PRE-PRO TECH

Providing students with rigorous technical training to prepare them for a career in the arts and beyond!

Pre-Pro Tech offers hands-on and classroom-based learning in many areas of technical theatre, including carpentry, scenic design & painting, lighting, sound, wardrobe, and stage management.  Students will work side by side with City Springs Theatre’s production teams on all technical elements including projects as early as the design phase!  They will learn what it takes to create and execute different types of shows for our Conservatory programs.

Our next program kicks off this April 2026 and runs through August 2026. Students are required to participate in an interview for acceptance into the program.  All levels of experience are encouraged to apply!  Open to rising 9th grade – rising college freshman. Interviews will begin in March 2026.

  • Guys and Dolls prep and designer discussions
  • Pre-Pro Showcase build, tech, and shows
  • Shadow day for CSTC’s production of Mean Girls
  • Pre production prep for Guys and Dolls
  • High School production of Guys and Dolls design, build, and tech
  • Shows performed late June
  • Post-Show discussions of Guys and Dolls
  • Design, prep, and build Competition Team musical
  • Senior Send-off-end of July
  • Continue to build Competition team musical
  •  Tech and work Competition team musical
  • Post show discussion/end of program celebration
