Justin Gamerl

Associate Technical Director

Justin Gamerl is excited to step into the role of Associate Technical Director for City Springs Theatre Company. Originally hailing from Nebraska, he discovered passion for theatre in High School as a performer first. While Justin graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln with an emphasis in Performance, he quickly fell in love with technical theatre.

After school, Justin moved to NYC to pursue acting and while he had some success on the stage, he continued to find technical theatre fun and exciting working for various companies in the big apple. While working in NYC, Justin discovered his passion for teaching. Working with students is always refreshing and inspiring. After teaching a few summers in Lenox, MA, Justin was dreading going back to the big city, so he pursued a different path; theatrical touring.

Nearly a decade spent on the road with various productions, touring the country checked all of Justin’s boxes. Collaboration, critical problem solving, leadership, mentoring; touring had it all. From kids shows to Broadway shows, from Head Props to Head Carpenter, Justin’s touring career is full of experience and perspective. These two concepts, he hopes to give to the next generation of technical theatre practitioners.

After the road, Justin found a home in Atlanta, GA. He has freelanced for different organizations in and around the local area but has always made his way back to City Springs Theatre Company.
